A party was held on Saturday, 11 November 2017 between 1:30pm and 5:30pm in the Paterson Centre, Swanmore. The bridge played was an American Whist movement for 11 teams of four, drawn randomly as teams but with NGS-based handicaps. Twenty-two boards were played. The boards moved anti-clockwise one table and the East/West pairs moved anti-clockwise two tables. North/South stayed at their table. Tim Howard, on behalf of the Meon Bridge Club, provided pre-dealt hands and the Bridgemates to score the movement. Liquid refreshments were served at half-time. The winners of the event were Tim & Gill Howard and Richard & Anne Green-Wilkinson. The results are here and the hand records are here.
After the bridge, honorary memberships were given to the founders of our bridge club:
After the presentations a sumptuous tea of sandwiches and cakes was consumed. The food was organised by Sue Jones and Sue Lowe with help from many other attendees.
